While our Papa De Rola Beans are grown here in the USA, these beautiful, striking beans come from Portugal and are used in recipes all over Latin America. They have a distinctive speckled tan/burgundy and cream hue, and are egg-shaped with a very mild flavor. This makes them an ideal bean to soak up sauces and sit in soups. Take advantage of their souper-soaker properties and try them in a Papa De Rola Beans Instant Pot recipe.

Superfood stat:  Papa De Rola Beans have 4 grams of protein per 100 grams and are rich in potassium, iron, and calcium.

Good for:  Vegetarians, vegans, and those looking for a source of protein, dietary fiber, and essential minerals all in one bean.

How to store: Don’t spill the beans! Keep them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, and their shelf-life will be around a year.

How to cook: When ready to use, give them a soak overnight and then rinse and sort them before cooking.

Retail Packaging Serving Size: There are approximately 7 servings per 22 oz bag.

Allergy note: Packaged in a facility that handles Lupin and Tree nuts.
All our beans are gluten-free and non-GMO, grown here in the USA!

Fun Fact:  Papa De Rola Beans are also known as “Dove’s Breast” beans. Considering the beans are speckled, dove-colored, and egg-shaped, the name seems fitting!
